BARBED-BEARD
The sentinal race of the Fæ
, protectors of the wee folk and perpetual guardians of the natural world - the Barbed Beard. as Fæ themselves, their forms are beholden to the changing of the continent - reflecting the state of the world. Their bodies are coated in soot, ash, and black powder, with spools of barbed wire jutting from their chins. Despite this appearance, the Barbed-Beard fight a constant uphill battle trying to restore the world to a better time for it is among their population, some still remember the Verdant Age - a time where it is thought the continent was at peace.
BARBED-BEARD BLOONDERVOOSEER (2024)
Ornery is a very good word to describe the Barbed-Beard. In constant irritation both mentally and physically - they use this to bolster their efforts against the warring nations that seek to harvest the final bastions of nature they possess in the Blackfinger Hills. I created this piece initially with SketchBook Pro, and I recorded it with OBS Studio and KDen Live. Words cannot explain how much I enjoy ProCreate now. Culturally, I also based the Barbed-Beards off of the Boers and Afrikaners.
BARBED-BEARD JUGGERNAUT (2025)
A Juggernaut clad in heavy steel plate armor, adorned with Barbed-Beard trinkets and cuisine, and wielding a Masjiengeweer. While most Barbed-Beards opt for flintlock style weaponry, some opt for more modern firearms - hand-machined from stolen enemy machinery.
Bollock Daggers are a big part of Barbed-Beard culture, them being a male-only race. According to them, these daggers represent a promise they must keep to the Mire Nymphs as Sucra-Loca’s guardians - the Barbed-Beard women originally being ensnared by Dæmons as they tunneled to Sucra-Loca, treavelling through Hell from some very distant place. Coalwors is also a very popular and nutitious dish - long-lasting sausages filled with various meats and spices, having a slight ashy taste.
BARBED-BEARD WANDERER (2023)
This first piece I did of the Barbed-Beard. I actually created this piece before Barbed Beards were playable - the Ogun being the first playable race instead. Initially, they existed to follow the players - occasionally cleaning their weapons as an act of good faith while the Clink-Clinks gave the players ammunition. However, something about them struck me and I simply couldn’t pass their design up. I love these guys so much, they embody a lot of hope in me during troubling times (I sometimes add them to my signatures).
