GOLANTHIR
The Golanthir, also known as the Golem-Men, are a mysterious race of humans that began appearing on the continent around 100 years ago. Their creation is shrouded in mystery, some saying they were brought into being through cabalistic means and rituals. What is known about them is their sheer combat prowess - their kind being seen as living weapons meant to combat both Gorn and
Dæmons.
Towering over the other species, the Golanthir were made physically imposing: broad-shouldered with a bulky frame; their heavy footsteps echoing through the ground they tread; their silence being the most off putting aspect about them. They have been seen with great suspicion by many, with some Trenchscape villages barring them from entry.
GOLANTHIR MERCENARY (2023)
Stalwart towers of stoicism and pillars of strength, the Golanthir push themselves to the most bitter fields of battle - engaing with fearsome enemies and monsters in order to satiate their drive against evil. Nearly all serve or have served as mercenaries, either as auxilary forces of the Seraphim or soldiers of trench warlords. Their most famed weapon is the Gol-Gewehr, a massive LMG with explosive rounds. Unfortunately, when not engaged against an enemy like the Gorn or Dæmonkind; they have been considered naïve and susceptible, doing the bidding of their leaders with utmost loyalty - sometimes to extremely horrifying degrees. What’s more, being “war-machines”, they fail to function outside of such environments - finding difficulty normalizing in a peaceful society.
GOLANTHIR ASSASSIN (2024)
Despite having their own retinue of problems, city-living is generally much more peaceful than that of living in the Trenchscape,
and even within the deep urban complexes of cities: Golanthir can be found, though extremely few in number. Some find employment as hired muscle through the various crime syndicates operating in the lower levels of the great cities. Others somehow become members of the secretive assassination corps - a looming, shadowy, hand that some believe stems from the ruling Vaocani families, used to quell insurrectionists or silence political rivals. Despite their large size, they can be quite nimble - their unquestioning servitude making them an even larger threat to those that have gained the scorn of the ruling families.
GOLANTHIR TRENCH RAIDER (2024)
While many announce a trench raid with the sound of a blaring whistle, this cannot be said for the Golanthir. From the stories of survivors, the only thing that can be heard are the muddy footfalls of them rushing towards their chosen foe. In silence, they fall upon their enemies undaunted - swinging their weapons with deadly precision. Of these, the most infamous are the Stygian Devils, a band of 15 Golanthir, clad in pitch-black armor with sweeping capes and massive warhammers. Their silence and efficiency making them widely feared across the land. Recent news reports have stated they have been employed by a local lord in the Trenchscape, using the Sygian Devils against both the forces of the Seraphim and Yanta-Yuri vanguard.
GOLANTHIR UNARMORED (2024)
Little is known about the origin of the Golanthir, with the only agreed-upon factor being when they first started making an appearance on Sucra-Loca. What has been rarely seen by few is what they look like without their copious amounts of armor. Their bodies are covered in black, spidery, veins that worm their way from their extremities; with their hands and feet being of the same color. From what has been observed, all Golanthir seem to have a great mask of an unknown metal covering their true face, though to this day, no mask has been pried off - leaving many to wonder what the purpose of such a mask could be or what it could be covering.
