MANDIGORAI
It would do well for one to be wary of the marsupial men of the Kah’rund Pass, the Mandigorai. Characterized by their conical, straw hats and their vivid cloth robes - their colorful apparel masks their predatory nature hidden underneath. Great snouts jut from their faces, equipped with dagger-like fangs as long as their forearms; their skin covered in a deep-vermilion fur, dyed red from the countless victims they had prayed upon; beady eyes, yellow in color, said to have the ability to grant sight even in the darkest of nights. While not seen too often in the Trenchscape, some Mandigorai come to the central continent as soldiers of fortune or bounty hunters, seeking the thrill of the hunt more so than any monetary amount. Their pursuit of targets is legendary, being described as ceaseless and unending - not many survive the chase, their bodies being found sliced to ribbons after the ordeal - the Mandigorai donning a small piece of their victims upon themselves as a charm.
MANDIGORAI HUNTER (2024)
The lands of the Kah’rund Pass have been carved by water and wind alike, with great towers of rock jutting upwards as far as the eye can see. Despite the shine of the sun, the sheer numbers of these great stones cast innumerable shadows, bathing the land in harsh lines of darkness. As such, the Mandigorai have naturally dark colored fur, allowing them to hide in these shadowy regions with relative ease. Besides their great sense of smell and acute precision, they are also the only sentient species on Sucra-Loca that possess the ability to see in the dark - those unfortunate enough to wander into the Kah’rund Pass being skewered by the great harpoons the Mandigorai are known to carry. Their hands are perfectly poised for climbing sheer surfaces, a skill any Mandigorai must master, lest they fall hundreds of feet down the cliffsides. Many traditional Mandigoari names are simple, being based on the particular Mandigorai’s possessions or personality. This particular Mandigorai bearing the name “Knives Hammer”.
MANDIGORAI HELLHOUND (2024)
There exists a tribe of Mandigorai famed for their warriors, being known for coating themselves in the blood of their enemies until it covers every inch of their being - the blood matting itself with their fur in thick locks and strands. Before anyone would encounter the so-called Hellhounds, their senses would be overloaded with the foul stench produced from these creatures, with the loud hum and buzz of flies being deafening. Their lairs are coated with multiple trophies taken by the dozens they have slain. While it may stand to be a treasure trove to some, it is ill-advised to venture into the territory of a Hellhound.
MANDIGORAI MERCENARY (2024)
While seeing Mandigorai to begin with is quite rare, even more so, is seeing one allied with one of the larger military groups - many opting to work with more local organizations near the Kah’rund Pass, forming a brigand group with other tribal members, or even working solo. The many powers have seen the talents of the Mandigorai, desperately bidding for their skills. This particular Mandigorai fashioning herself with Domain Auxiliary colors.
MANDIGORAI SPEARHUNTER (2023)
It was said, the Mandigorai were once men of similar stock to the Khuzang’aro, perhaps even being kin to them. However, they fell prey to primal and beastial calls of lycanthropy - forming cults deep within the hoodoos of the northern wastelands. They began to worship the primal beast gods of ages past, transforming themselves into the savage monsters now seen today. They are seen with great suspicion by many across the Trenchscape, many Mandigorai being barred entry from entering towns if seen alone or with other Mandigorai.
